NEWS:Barbara delivers safer sex session for WISE UP

One of the most satisfying parts of Barbara's role as MD of Contraception Education is teaching and providing sexual health information - and taking on a hands-on role teaching teenagers. Today was no exception. A group of young men from St Peter's RC High School took part in an interactive session about Safer Sex.

Before the session, some did not know how to protect themselves from common STI's, and others had no idea about the tests and treatments. In the class, as well as open discussion, they were able to view the NHS Choices Videos and some clips from You Tube about HIV prevention, and felt greatly reassured.

This session evaluated positively with several of the young men on the programme praising Barbara for her open approach and her ability to meet them where they are with language and explanations they understand.
